Kallander Woods consists of two hillside properties, one bordering Valley Road and one bordering Route 30, containing 18.3 acres with a mature stand of hardwoods. The Valley Road parcel includes wetlands and a pool that provides a habitat for salamanders and frogs.
In fall 2025, Scout LJ Rose built a 550-foot trail as an Eagle Scout project, creating the beginning of a trail system. That trail starts and ends on Valley Road, both endpoints south of the SOLF sign, with a set of stairs at the southernmost end.
In late summer 2026, Scout Corey Lu built a trail, starting on a boardwalk just north of the SOLF sign and pond, traveling uphill and downhill before merging with the other trail. End to end, the combined trail is now 1/4 mile, starting and ending on Valley Road.
Visitors can access and explore the trail and the rest of the property off Valley Road. Valley Road is narrow, so care must be taken when parking not to block the road. It is better to park on Meadow Lane and walk down the road.
