Invasive Species Workshop, May 15, 2010

On May 15th, SOLF hosted a training session on invasive species as part of the New England Wildflower Society's (NEWFS) project to locate, document and eradicate new invasive species before they get established in the region.  NEWFS is holding 4 workshops to train volunteers from all 36 towns in the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers Watershed (SuAsCo) Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area (CISMA) with the first workshop in Southborough. After a morning class about invasive species, the twenty volunteers from 8 towns went to Beals Preserve for in-field training. Ted Elliman of the NEWFS and Amber Carr of the US Fish & Wildlife Department led the workshop.

SOLF's participation in this program was made possible by a grant from the Foundation for MetroWest.
